Seriously, I love a good lyric more than almost anything else in the entire world but that doesn’t mean there’s only one right way for music to be. Not everything has to be about how pretentious you are and how the music industry is crumbling around us GOD THE HORROR!!!!! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!!! This makes me angrier than almost anything else because an artist like Nicki Minaj or Selena Gomez or Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift or whoever is doing the same thing as a band like Bon Iver or Death Cab, they’re creating something and expressing themselves, and it comes packaged differently and sometimes has more commercial success, but that (A) doesn’t mean it’s bad and (B) doesn’t make anything that the ~folksy, ~indie bands are doing less legitimate, and like, if I see one more person tearing up some female artist in defense of their precious stupid all-male ~indie rock~ bands I will probably scream my head off. I ripped into Adam Lazzara when he made some asinine comment about Selena Gomez’s lyrics on Twitter so don’t think I won’t do it to you. I mean, Jesus, there are plenty of stupid all-male ~indie rock~ bands that I love, but you don’t have to be an asshole about it.

And pretty much the only thing I hate more than this post is the other version that had bands like the Beatles and Zeppelin, like, okay, Tumblr, you’re soooooooooo cultured.
